Monitoring Nagios check_msa_hardware.pl

Hi!
Very odd problem:

I would love to use following script for nagios to monitor my msa2312i:
http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/Hardware/Storage-Systems/SAN-and-NAS/Check-HP-MSA-(Modular-Smart-Array)-sensors/details

While setting it up on my Proxmox server i found out that unfortunately there is some perl plugins missing and not installable under Debian lenny...

./check_msa_hardware.pl
Can't locate Nagios/Plugin.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/nagios/libexec /home/nagios/plugins /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.10.0 /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.10 /usr/share/perl/5.10 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at ./check_msa_hardware.pl line 27.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ./check_msa_hardware.pl line 27.

I was able to install libnagios-object-perl, but still this error comes up...


What can i do?

Noone can give me a hint?
The problem seems to be, that there is no prebuilt packages for the needed perl-plugins in lenny.
But maybe someone can point me to some plan b...

My plan B would be:
1. visit http://backports-master.debian.org/ maybe you'll find the needed perl-plugins.
2. visit the HP community/Support Forum
3. visit the Nagios community/Support Forum

Maybe you'll find there a solution.

Got it working!
This is what i did:

aptitude install build-essential
aptitude install libyaml-perl
perl -MCPAN -e 'install Nagios:lugin'
perl -MCPAN -e 'install Net::SNMP'

You need not the cpan modules. There are also debian packages. Cpan has sometimes problems with updating the modules.

Allright...
Didn't know that.
Do i have to remove the cpan modules before i start installing the debian packages?
And if so, how would i preferably do that?
