Mobile Web UI (and thanks!)

Hi,

I've been using Proxmox for a while now and I just wanted to say that I really appreciate it that Proxmox Server Solutions provide the CE edition to us amateur enthusiasts free of charge. It's great to have that just for us guys with only a couple of machines at home who aren't serious corporate users but who still need a robust, reliable solution at home. Not only is it a nice gesture, but a great marketing tactic because I've sung your praises to many of my colleagues who are in IT and I believe you've had some business from some of them - so win win :)

The other reason I wanted to post here is because I was wondering if there was any kind of update on the horizon for the mobile web UI? The desktop site is great, but all the mobile site allows you to do is get info. You can't snapshot a VM, for example. I know there is the console for this also, but then whats the point in a UI at all? A mobile UI refresh for v9 would be amazing.

Anyway, keep up the great work and, once again, thank you so much for this amazing product. I will continue to steer XCP and ESXi users in your direction!

Cheers,

Bob

Hi,

first, thanks for the praise :) It's always nice to hear that users are happy!

As for this:

A friend of mine has just pointed out to me that at the end of the roadmap here: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Roadmap#Roadmap

It says:

Code:
Improve and polish user interface experience

Could this mean that there are already QoL improvements planned? Could one of the devs chime in and clarify what this means? :)

this is meant specifically for the SDN part

but we always try to improve the UX and UI for all of the interface. I must admit that the Mobile web UI did not get much love in recent years, in part also due to the framework we used there (we use sencha touch there, a mobile variant of the extjs framework, but we use a very old version...)
we spent more time in the android app (which also is not fully featured..)

If there are specific things not working with the mobile ui (or features you miss) -> please open a bug: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com . this gives us specific things to implement we know users want and also tells us how much it is actually used.

Hi Dominik,

Thanks for the reply and clarification :) That all makes sense... the mobile UI reminds me of original iPhone so I see what you mean about it being very old. I didn't realise there was an Android app, I'll check it out.

Thanks for the link, I will submit some ideas there!

Cheers, and thanks again for such an amazing product.

Yeah, I came here to ask if this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.proxmox.app.pve_flutter_frontend was basically "dead" as it doesn't seem like it gets any updates. I know you mention "if there are specific things", but that is a big list. Ideally I'd like to be able to do ANYTHING the web GUI can do in the android app.

TBH, I've switched over to this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=itss.proxmate.ios as it's much more actively developed (and looks beautiful comparatively as well)
