Hello.
We are currently building a Proxmox cluster with 3 nodes, with 2x Samsung SM863a (SSD) in each node for VM's. With a dedicated 10GBit storage network.
But we are also going to need Storage volumes for the VM's and space for backup. On HDD's-
One solution i was thinking of is adding HDD's to Ceph, but from what i have read that might kill the performance of the SSD's.
Another solution might to be add a replicated Glustefs volume on two of the servers, like HDD -> ZFS(raid10) -> Glusterfs. But this is another system to maintain.
The third solution might be to make two pool and configure ceph manually, like this:
https://ceph.com/geen-categorie/ceph-mix-sata-and-ssd-within-the-same-box/
But then the setup, and maintaining of the Ceph would get more complicated and manual.
What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks
