Mixed Environment

I currently have a cluster of 6 Host, Looking at the PVE 7.0 release (excited good work team) i see there is a path for upgrade from 6.4 which is great. question is however since i have a few nodes and a larger VM count it will take me a while to upgrade a host. and move everything around. (trying for a zero downtime) are there any issues with VMs migrating between 7.0 and 6.4 or is that a 1 way setup and i should plan on not being able to migrate to 6.4 while having the cluster in a mixed state?

Migrating from new to old is not guaranteed. It may work, but never assume that.
You should be able to clear one host by migrating the guests off of it, then upgrade it and move the guests back.
Then do so for the next node. As long as you always do old -> new it is fine.
