missing log files

Until I get my central logging server setup, local logs are wiped every time the server is restarted. This obviously is an issue with losing past logs, but any proper logging system will create the proper folders/log files when it starts back up again. I am not seeing this to be the case with the ceph log and the pveproxy log. Am I missing something? I am not sure if you do any custom ceph logging or if this is just an issue with the native ceph system. Obviously the pveproxy logging issue would be a proxmox issue. Amazes me that it logs to the syslog that the pveproxy log is missing, yet it doesn't try to create it. Thoughts and suggestions? Thanks for your time.

The OS's are running on flash memory, so to limit the number of writes to it, the logs are stored on a ramdisk and then also sent to a central logging server. When a system is rebooted, the ramdisk is obviously emptied.

Ok, for testing purposes, i moved the logs back to local only and no special ramdisk, etc. The ceph log was there, but for some reason now its gone.
