Hi everyone
I have a Proxmox running on a SuperMicro Server that detect high temperature, i use Beszel to monitor them:

The sensor involved is "pch_haswell" (And i far as i understand is the chipset of the motherboard?) the temp is 94° degrees and is strange because the server is very cold, if i look on the IPMI of the motherboard i don't see a sensor matching that temperatures as you can see:

I think the corresponding sensor here is the "System Temp" which is 41 degrees C.
Wait your toughts

i guess sometimes the sensors that are available in linux via drivers/etc are not the same that are available via the ipmi so it might be a different sensor.
do you know how beszel retrieves the sensor info?
if the package 'lm-sensors' is installed, you could post the output of 'sensors' here, maybe that has some more info/data

it's always possible that the kernel driver has some bug with this specific chip and e.g. has a wrong temperature offset or something.

sadly that path alone does not really say where it comes from or anything else.
can you see which device (e.g. pci id) id belongs to?

what does it show?

you can print it by doing, e.g.
Code:
cat /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1/temp1_input

I get this too. Supermicro X10SDV. Being reported as virtual device. Not part of the MB or it would be in IPMI. I gave up tryinhg to track it downScreenshot 2026-01-22 124519.pngScreenshot 2026-01-22 131035.png
