[SOLVED] minisforum un100d not installing proxmox

I have a minisforum un100d, came with win11 installed. when I boot with to the USB with proxmox installer I get the main installer page and no matter which option i choose the installer started says building/loading the ramdisk then after a second or two, reboots and get back to the main install page.

I didn't notice at first but an error was flashing when GRUB comes up.

I guessing these have something to do with the installer failing.

anyone have suggestions? I'm already asking minisforum for help, but haven't had the best of luck with their support so far.

How did you write the Proxmox VE installation ISO onto your USB drive? Have you verified the ISO via a sha256sum that is shown on the download page at [1]? If the checksums don't match, the ISO image was somehow corrupted and should be redownloaded. Otherwise, when writing the ISO image onto an USB drive, it should also be verified after the write on the USB drive.

Are you trying to install to the included SSD that has Windows 11 on it? Be aware that the Proxmox installation will overwrite that SSD completely. If you don't care for that Windows 11 install - go ahead. If not replace that SSD with another empty one.

I'm guessing you need to turn off Secure-Boot in the BIOS. (It is probably securing that Windows 11 install).

I made sure the hash matched and used both rufus and etcher to create the USB drives. The USB drives wasn't the problem but bios settings.

After many attempt I figure out I had to turn off Secure-Boot, Fast-Boot and Secure-Devices in the bios. So was running plain vanilla UEFI.

Now that I got Proxmox installed and I can access web management console, now to my next problem of getting the virtual appliance I want to get running on to proxmox. That's another post.


Note: gfngfn256 -- yep knew would wipe win11, made a clonzilla backup just encase want to go back.
