I'm planning on installing Proxmox VE 2.0 on my HP MicroServer and I'm wondering what the minimum amount of space needed for the host OS is. Somewhere in my apartment I have an 8GB thumb drive but all I can find now is a 4GB drive. Is 4GB enough space or do I need to find my 8GB drive? My VMs will be stored on a 250GB SATA drive.

I looked in one of my installation documents and found some information: Proxmox VE 1.9 and one container with the template ubuntu-10.04-standard_10.04-4_amd64 takes about 400 MB.

So a 4GB drive should be plenty of space. Sweet. I will only be creating 3 VMs and the actual disk images for them will be on a separate HD.
