Migration slow

Today i upgrade from PM 1.3 to 1.4. I have a cluster 2 nodes with a 1GB network backend. In 1.3 a migration kvm VM take 5 minutes at 56 MB/s. Now 1.4 take hours... at 5 MB/s.
I seed Rsync now use SSH as transport. Its expected ?

Wait, no - that is not expected. I also doubt that rsync uses ssh for local copies - why do you think it does?

After reboot the destination node the speed go to 27 MB/s. A lot beter but not the same. I will try reboot the other node to see whats happen and post here.


About rsync: When you run migrate the comand line generete to transfer image from one node to another envolve ssh with blowfish. (i read que qmigrate script, and see in process list). So PVE 1.4 use SSH to transfer images from one node to another as sayed in 1.4 release:

• DRBD storage replication with active/active mode
• Multiple ISO storages (NFS)
• Multiple backup locactions (including NFS)
• Zero downtime live migration (KVM); over ssh channel - all traffic is encrypted
• Updated web interface (pve-manager)

Maybe this explain the 1/2 speed i now meter...

Yes (sorry, i am confused today), but that was used that way in 1.3 too.

From the web interface (when you start a migrate). The log of the last task can also be viewed at /Administartion/Logs/Tasks

I have found the logs/task. But the log show only the command starting remote machine in new node.. and i can't cut and paste the lines (maybe ajax refresh - try and you can see). But i done with rapid CTR+A + CTRL+C in all page. And here the price:

Connection to 192.168.2.3 closed.
VM 101 started

OK.

I will reboot both nodes this night. Then i will test... maibe this is a transient efect from upgrade.... I will post the results here.

I reboot both nodes an migrate a Vm from one to another and back again. The speed is normal like 1.3. So apear nothing to concern.

Thanks a lot for attention and for the excelent product. I try hard convince my partiners to donate to PMVE... and customer too... i expect some result soon.
