Migration question

I was reading the migration page and noticed there is no documentation on migrating a linux guest machine in vmdk format to proxmox. I googled around but didn't find anything significant in regards to taking a linux system in vmware and converting it to a compatible machine. Essentially I would like to take the Hercules Load Balancer Virtual Appliance, which is a small debian OS loaded with PEN and VRRP that acts as a HA-Load Balancer, and use it in proxmox.

Thanks,

Mike

just follow the guide for microsoft VM´s (and you do not need to apply the registry patch, its obviously necessary only for windows). if the migrated machine does not start, check the boot loader (before you migrate, e.g. /boot/grub/menu.lst). in some cases you need to adapt the boot loader.
