Migration question for CPU selection in KVM

Hi all,

My small cluster has all identical systems (2x Xeon 5420) - is there a logical reason to use KVM64 instead of Host for the CPU type? I understand if I had a mix of CPU types or brands, but with everything identical, are there any issues I could expect to run into with things like live migration?

If you have same CPUs in you cluster is Host the best.

That is what I was thinking as I was doing some performance tests, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious.

Same CPU IMHO is not enough to guaranty for a flawless migration when choosing CPU type. Same motherboard should also be added to the equation.

Honestly, they are 3 as close to identical machines as you can get without them all being just one machine , with the same hardware (cup, ram quantity and type, motherboard, Ethernet adapters, hdd size and quantity, etc)
