migration from esx to proxmox of a virtual server with LVM and two disks

Hi,

We are trying to migrate a debian 7 virtual server from vmware esx to proxmox v2.

On vmware the virtual server uses LVM and a second disk is added to the volume group. Both disks are downloaded from the vmware server and are supposed to be migrated to proxmox, but what is the correct procedure?

Hi,

in theory:
- move both (full) vmdk disks to pve
- if you wish convert (full) vmdk disks from vmdk to (eg) qcow2 (or raw), but you can also live migrate those storage, after, if you have 3.x.
- set the correct boot disk in pve vm options

should work, afaik.

notice: newer vmdk are not supported
