Migration from a physical server

Hello all:

I have a physical server running CentOS 5.6 and handling the mail for our organization. The physical server is a Dell Poweredge 2950 with a PERC controller running in RAID1. The logical drive is configured as LVM within CentOS. My question is what is the easiest way to "clone" the environment for use in ProxMox? I've looked at the Clonezilla option but I'm not sure how that will work with LVM configured on the physical server.

If you are running a 'unix' system I would recommend a container based approach.

Hi Guys
Nice thread. I was wondering if any of you has attempt to migrate a Virtual Machine from VBox to ProxMox. There is extensive literature on ho to achieve P2V (physical to Virtual)
IE.: http://www.sysprobs.com/physical-virtual-virtualbox-virtualbox-p2v

So once you have done you HDD Physical export/migration/etc Can you use it to import into ProxMox?
Is Proxmox import capable?
