were about to go into production, and i got the clearance for the supported version. our nodes have the pve-no-subscription repo. how should we switch to supported? is a reinstall nessescary? can we do this one node at a time?

just remove the pve-no-subscription repo (and activate the enterprise repo again). no re-install necessary.

AFAIU, since the non-subscription are usually "newer" versions than enterprise ones, how is that situation managed? I mean, after I change repositories and do a aptitude update ; aptitude -y full-upgrade I can have:
a) since enterprise packages have lower version number, nothing changes (so I miss the advantage of more stable packages)
b) enterprise have in any case an higher version number than non-subscription, so my system is upgraded as regarding package version number, but downgrades as regarding functionality
Which is the situation?
Thanks

a) since enterprise packages have lower version number, nothing changes (so I miss the advantage of more stable packages)

So a.) is the situation. But this resolves automatically by our next update, when we move pve-non-subscription packages to the enterprise repository.
