Good morning,

Im running Proxmox Server 6.4-4 with a Enterprise subscription right now and
i want to upgrade to 7.1 because July 31 finish the suppport for 6.x
versions.
As it said in the documentation there is two ways to upgrade the server, one
doing a in-place upgrade and another to do a new instalation, and im going to
choose the second option, the new instalation.
Im testing in a new server, installing with the ISO and then restoring one
backup from the old server, but i found some issues:

In Administration/syslog tab there is not the old data, how can copy the all
proxmox syslog, coping the /var/log/syslog from the old server? There is any
problem with that or there is another way to do it safely?
In Spam Quarantine and Virus Quarantine there is not the old data, how can
i restore it the data form the old server?
In Tracking center there is not the old data, how can i restore it the data
form the old server?
The User Blacklist and Whilist is empty, how can i restore it the data form
the old server?
The Tracking Center is empty, how can i restore it the data form the old
server?

Thank you in advance,

Miguel Angel

you can use pmgbackup tool [0]. on your old server create a backup: pmgbackup backup
transfer the resulting file to your new server and execute pmgbackup restore --filename ... (replace the ... with your backup archive)

this should cover all the rules that you've created.
for the syslog you can always copy it over to the new server, but i wouldn't recommend that.

if you really want to keep all the old data you have, then maybe it's a better option to do the in-place upgrade as described on the wiki [1]

hope this helps!
