I'm getting a new drive and want to use it to run PVE instead of the current drive. My question is, if I install PVE on this new drive and boot from it, will the storages (for VM disk images and stuff) on the old drive be directly recognizable and usable in this new installation?

It should. Linux supports at least READ access to lots of filesystems.
I guess so. but not totally sure about if it will show in the UI and therefore allowing easy manipulations

I accidentally made 2 posts on the same question. For those who come to this post, please go to the other one, where there's more discussion.
