Microphone delay on guests using Pipewire?

A year or so back I posted about this same issue both on the forum and on Reddit, I thought I'd maybe post again with new findings, https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/m...-linux-and-windows-guests.125867/#post-549480 here is the old thread but the short of it is, I was seeing substantial delay when using a microphone in a VM intended for daily use with recording software and Discord, around 1-3 seconds seemingly. I eliminated this issue on Windows guests by simply passing through a USB controller, simple and painless, but on a Linux guest of any variety (PopOS, Manjaro, straight Arch, EndeavourOS, and Fedora I believe are all the distros I tried as a guest) the delay was still present, and seemingly a few degrees worse than any delay that was present on a Windows guest even with passed through USB control. I had tried multiple methods to reduce Pipewire latency (mostly just changing config values or altering how Pipewire loads) to the same level of delay, the fix was switching from Pipewire to PulseAudio, with PulseAudio any input delay seemed to be gone, I don't really understand why that could be, as I was under the impression Pipewire was even more performant and efficient than PulseAudio. I am fully okay with downgrading Linux guests I use to PulseAudio, as that's rather trivial, but just would like to know, am I doing something wrong configuration-wise, or might this just be the nature of the beast?
