Hello all,

I recently bought a 400GB Micron 7450 Max NVMe drive to replace a Seagate FireCuda 530 in my HP Elite Mini 800 G9 with an Intel Core i9-12900T and 64GB DDR5 RAM.

After replacing the drive, it seems like I can't install Proxmox, I just get a black screen and the 'HDD' light is solid white like if the drive was being used (no flashing). No Proxmox screen with the option to select GUI or CLI.

The BIOS settings are the same as how I had Proxmox installed on the FireCude 530.

I tested to make sure the drive worked by installing Windows and it installed normally.

What can be causing this? :( I replaced the drive because the FireCuda was being chewed up (wear level was high for a 6-7 month old drive)

Thanks for the help! :)

I am having the same issue with the same hardware. Running 2.5" SSD boot drive, went to install 2 of these Micron 7450 nvme's in the HP Elite Mini 800 G9. Just freezes on the HP boot screen. Managed to get into boot menu, it saw the drive was there. Restarted and same thing.

Removed 2 Microns and everything ok again. No idea.

I tried moving around SSD1 and SSD2 NVMe drives and nothing seemed to work.

I got it to work by powering off the Elite Mini, unplugging the power and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

Then I powered it back up, right away booted into the boot menu and selected the Proxmox installer USB.

Installed without issues, reboots without issues just sometimes when I power off completely is when the issue happens.

Even sometimes when I power off completely and power it back on, I have to boot into the Boot Menu and select the drive with Proxmox installed.

I don't know what is causing this but my guess is the nvme might be keeping some kind of state in the PLP on the 7450s..

Right now I have on SSD1 the 7450 and on the SSD2 I have an 8TB Oyen NVMe drive.

A little warning though, these drives run HOT as hell - I think all enterprise NVMes run hot. I stuffed some small little blower fans inside the unit and seem to keep it cool but these 7450s can't stand still air.
