I thought it was quirky that Proxmox offers all these LXC containers, but they do not have Turnkey for their native-support monitoring systems, Grafana and InfluxDB.
That really seems like a footgun to me. WTH?
I wanted to see this Metric Server thing working. Found an easy testlab setup.

This tteck person, who clearly has way too much time on their hands, has scripted out a containerized install of both of those apps.
It's a bit clunky, gotta run it in your PVE console window and don't touch till it finishes. (I kept screwing that up.)
(There are a bunch of brilliant scripts there, but the installers are gold.)

Once the app containers are up, Gabriel Verle steps us through configuring them to talk to PVE and each other.
(Props to Gabriel for their ability to write a good how-to. Excellent beginner intro for these apps.)

I was able to walk through all of this in an hour or two.
It all worked. I did zero hacking.
The apps are live, they are talking to PVE, tables and data are all there, so is the dashboard.

So, that's what Metric Server does. Hmm.
