I have 4 virtual machines on my proxmox machine. For some reason 4 machines are using 28 gigs of memory when only 22 gigs are assigned. How can I set the priorty on the memory so that my minecraft server gets priority over the memory then my docker install then my webpage and then my development machine..

I do not understand what shares=1000 means and I think this is the key to reducing the huge memory usage.

Hi,

the default value of a share is 1000. Every guest got this value.
shares are priorities so if a VM has a share of 2000 it is double as imported then the default guests.
So you can give a VM priority before another guest gets memory.
