Hi all,

Was wonderign if anyone can help me troubleshoot why one of my VMs keeps maxxing out its ram consumption.

Upon restart everything works wonderful.

After a few hours I come back to find it with a massive spike and unable to recover. following a reboot again.

VM is Open media vault.iso

File servers tend to use all of the RAM as cache. Is there an actual problem or you just don't like all the memory being in use?

ETA: Operating systems in general tend to use all of the RAM as cache. File servers just get there quicker.
I dont beleive I am seeing any impact on system wide peformance. Was more a concern that it is spending unecessary resource that can be used from other containers and VMs

Best way to not waste RAM is to not assign a VM more RAM than it needs. 4GB should be enough for OMV unless you use ZFS or similar. Otherwise it will eat all RAM you throw at it which then isn't available for other VMs which might benefit more from it.

Excellent. I will do this.
