MegaRAID SAS 9286CV-8e Passthrough to Win10VM

Hello All! I'm attempting to passthrough my raid card to the windows VM but i get a BSOD every time I attempt this. I have blacklisted megaraid_sas and added the raid card to vfio.conf and it still persists. Has anyone gotten this to work and can help me understand what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance

A lot of people use pcie pass through.
I have no experience with that particular card but from my experience the built-in drivers for LSI cards within Windows were not always working properly for me.

So my advice would be to install the drivers from LSI / Avago / Broadcom for that card within the VM before actually configuring the pass through.

What message does the BSOD give you? Any details there?

So I tried that as well. I got it to pass through to windows and restored the configuration and drivers and the whole windows system crashed.

When it blue screens it says Driver IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL I believe.

Is it unusual that proxmox doesn't detect the virtual drive either?

If you pass the device through then it is not visible to pve anymore.
The IRQ message can mean anything.
Disconnect the streamer and try another pcie port. Maybe that helps

So what appears to have happened is that the firmware on the raid card somehow started throwing a fault so windows just died every time I tried to boot. I knew linux would boot even with the device failing so I spun up a linux VM and the data was readily available. Since I just wanted to pull the data off the virtual drive and get rid of the raid card all together i just setup a network share and transferred the data off the virtual drive.

Not sure what happened with the RAID card but i suspect it was that first boot into windows that was successful.
