MediaWiki v1.16.2 OpenVZ template from scratch released

MediaWiki v1.16.2 OpenVZ template has been built from scratch on Debian Squeeze as no deb was available. The Wiki page has the details. The squeeze build templates are available on my page on the Wiki.

Another nice template sponsored by GNUAcademy and supported by PlaNetTel.

If you think that there are some commonly used extension of universal appeal, do let us know and we will try to bundle it in the template itself - this will save users a lot of time in beginning to use a freshly installed template.

MediaWiki v1.16.2 Build 2 Template, DAB Build File set, dependencies and the updated apm-available files have been uploaded to their respective places.

This was necessitated by the requirement of the JavaScript Extension to load all extensions' js files into the base extension folder for loading in the script header itself. The apache conf file was updated as well. The original bundled extensions did not use any javascript ad hence this escaped notice. The WYSIWYG FckEditor extension needs this as do many of the others which use js.

The method of installing a few extensions is listed as copy-paste code for the console on the Wiki.

The sacollege.net and gnuacademy.org sites (my template distribution sites) together register about 2 GB traffic a day. That is about 9 to 10 templates downloaded a day.
