max backup limit of 1 enforced by the target storage

Hello,

I have an issue with a node (all other nodes are fine). I have a backup job set up in datacenter which make backup of all containers.

On one node I always get: "There is a max backup limit of 1 enforced by the target storage or the vzdump parameters. Either increase the limit or delete old backup(s)." so no more backup than the oldest one is created. I still don't know the reason. The detailed backup logs shows:
Code:
Detailed backup logs:

vzdump --mailnotification failure --compress gzip --all 1 --mailto xxxxxx@yyyyyy.de --storage pbs01-backup-store01 --quiet 1 --mode stop

108: no log available

111: no log available

112: no log available

113: no log available

Versions:
  • Affected Proxmox node: Version 6.2-15
  • Backup Server: Version 2.0-9
I know I need to update them, but I want to do backup first before update the nodes. (I'll try with updating to 6.4-15)

I already searched for the backup storage limit, but didn't found, neither on the affected node nor on pbs. Any idea where I should look?

Best regards
Floh

did you try setting the 'max backup' setting to something higher in datacenter -> storage -> pbs ?
(or is there a 'retention' tab already? if yes, set some higher values there, e.g. keep-last = 100) ?

Hi Dominik,

thank you for your reply. In the meanwhile I was on holiday, thus the late reply.

After I updated the node from 6.2-15 to 6.4-15 the backup works as a charm now. This means my settings were already fine.

Best regards
