Massive Load 120-150% when clone an VM

Hello guys,

I`m facing a problem, and i think is new because i never sow this problem like 1-2 mo ago.

So i got an VM with win 7 on it and i clone it to avoid making again and again new instalations, the clone it takes like 20-30 secands is fast from my opinion but the server load jumps to 120-150% :| and it stays like this aprox 10 minutes even if the "clone" finished in 20 secands and i dont understand why dose it make like this, on ther servers with proxmox version 3.4 i don't face this problem like in the curent one with 5.3.8.

I got another 2 servers on the cluster but i didnt tested them cuz only in the one i get this load i gont the vm from witch i make clones.

Is there anyone facing the same issue ? or having some idee what can cauze this.

Hi,

I guess this problem occurs because of the specter and meltdown kernel patches, where IO can be 30% slower.
Do you have actual firmware updates on the MB? This can reduce the behavior.
Also please update to current Kernel.
