hello,
i have a esxi free (6.5) and i decided to migrate my VMs to proxmox VE, to have a real backup solution.
My proxmox use LVM-Thin.
I followed this tutorials in the wiki and from the site sysorchestra (i can't indicate the url for anti-spam measurements for this forum)

My VMS (linux and windows) are working in Proxmox, no problem at all, but the Mapped size (lvdisplay) is always at 100% (despite what is said in the second tutorial)
I'v got my largest VM to transfer (FOG) and i wonder if there is another solution less space consuming for the migration or another treatement after.
Thanks in advance
Stephane

Depending on your storage, you can issue a trim (discard) inside the VMs after the migration to free unused blocks. Or in some cases you can also use qemu-img to create a sparse image.
