Mail gateway cluster over an internet connection

Is it advisable? I already have a master and node on the same LAN, but was going to add a second node on a remote connection?

i guess it's possible but it'll try to sync the configs+db over ssh/rsync not sure how performant that is with bigger nodes (ofc depends on the bandwidth in between)

in general i'd advice against that, but no harm in trying

Could I cluster it to get the config across, and then remove it once synced?

yes, but what do you want to achieve? if you just want to copy the rulesystem,etc. wouldn't it be easier to create a backup and restore it on the target?

Ah OK, does that also have user b/w lists and any rule changes I have made? Also I havce clamav extras in there like SecuriteInfo etc?

yes the complete rulesystem is backed up

no afair you must reconfigure that separately
