Mail Gateway 6.4-4 to 8.1 upgrade

Hi,

I have tried an inplace upgrade from 6.4-4 to 7.x in the past, but it didn't work. I can't remember the error, but that was the reason why I stayed on 6.4-4 (which is still running very well).

Now there is 8.1 out and I would like to give it a try again

Can I simply make a new 8.1 installation and then import the 6.4-4 backup or is there anything else to consider?

It should work (although we did not explicitly test this with an EOL version).
