Mac OSX running in proxmox vm

Afternoon all,

I’m very new to virtualisation, I have an intel based motherboard and other hardware known to run OS X well. I have successfully installed proxmox ve on an ssd and have managed to set up a vm of OS X Monterey that runs fine and can be viewed and used from the web gui using another computer.

The bit I’m having trouble with is how to use it on the host computer. If I boot the host computer, I get to the screen that tells me the IP address of the web gui and offers me a proxmox login prompt.

Would really appreciate any help on this.

As Proxmox is based on Debian you could install a desktop environment, login to its GUI, start a browser and access the VM from the host's monitor.

You could indeed install a desktop enironment on the Proxmox host, or you can PCIe passthrough a GPU and USB controller to a VM. That second options is much more involved and might not work with your particular hardware.
