Im not entirely sure if this is the correct section to post this thread but I’ll give it a go.
Yesterday I was moving hardware around as I had bought a new router (Mikrotik…that was a learning curve of its own to get everything I wanted running the way I wanted it)
But, in any case I logged into Proxmox to shutdown the system so I could move it. I have an external 1TB SATA SSD connected to system and have an LXC installed on it with 850GB allocated. I left the drive connected when moving it. Just so I don’t plug it back into a wrong USB port.
When I restarted the system in its new location all the VM’s and LCX’s which are on the internal NVME started up fine and worked perfectly like before. How ever the LXC I had on the External SSD wouldn’t start.
I got the following error “volume 'SSDStorage:102/vm-102-disk-0.raw' does not exist”
When I check the Resources of the LXC it says “Root Disk SSDStorage:102/vm-102-disk-0.raw,replicate=0,size=850G”
When I check the SSDStorage on the node it says 7.81GB of 100.86GB used. Which seems to mirror the space used on the local (proxmox) storage.
Also under Proxmox -> Disks that drive shows up as:-
Device:- /dev/sda
Type:- USB
Usage:- partitions
Size:- 1.05TB
GPT:- Yes
Model:- SABRENT
Serial:- DB98 (I’ve just put the first 4 characters)
S.M.A.R.T:- PASSED
Mounted:- No
Wearout:- N/A
And the under that it says the following:-
Device:- /dev/sda1
Type:- partition
Usage:- ext4
Size:- 1.05TB
GPT:- Yes
Model:-
Serial:-
S.M.A.R.T:-
Mounted:- Yes
Wearout:- N/A
It looks as it did before the error I now have.
Im happy to provide any addtional information i may have missed to help me get the LXC on that drive up and running again.
Many thanks in advance,
Im not sure why this has happened as I’ve moved the Proxmox server to another physical location before and have never had this problem before.
So after that long intro my question I guess is there a way to get that LXC on that drive back?
