Hey guys! I'm super new to this self hosting journey but slowly figuring it out. I've messed around with Proxmox a little bit but always got stuck trying to dig in further no matter the videos/docs i've watched/read.

My goal is to have a few different containers all running together. I' can manage getting containers started and everything - what I can't figure out is how to get those containers to have an uncapped storage size. Ultimately I'd enjoy something like this:

ZFS Pool: /MainPool

Container 1 (Media Like Plex/etc) - Location /MainPool/Media/Streaming/Movies,TV,Music

Container 2 (Back end stuff like Postgres, Redis. etc) - Location /MainPool/Backend/AppNames

Container 3 Just kind of continues from here

Is this possible? I've been used to docker and the bind mounts (I think it's called) where Plex would have something in the docker compose like /MainPool/Files/Streaming/Movies:/Movies and others like that

I'm sorry if I put some useless information and sensless ramblings. I'm super eager to gain a bit more knowledge and follow this journey of self hosting

EDIT: One more thing! Having a ZFS originally with Ubuntu server is it about the same process to import that existing ZFS over into Proxmox? If not I do have everything backed up onto an external drive too.

unset refreservation and refquota if set.

Depends on the Pool features and ZFS version of the created host, but if PVE is newer, it should not be problem. Just try to import and see if it works. Normally there is no Problem importing a ZFS pool in slightly different versions or even operating system (and no Ubuntu and PVE are both Linux, I mean e.g. FreeBSD and MacOS)
