Hi, I am experimenting with LXC containers on my 4.2 host and I cannot take snapshots of my container. The container is stored in a local directory contained on an LVM volume.

Is there a way of doing LXC container snapshots? Any advice?

Thanks

Yes, but you need to store your container on a "lvm-thin", see the images below:

The LVM-Thin is a block device that is not mounted as a directory.

OK thank you. So I need to convert my existing LVM volume to LVM-Thin to do this. Can I 'borrow' some of my LVM storage to create LVM-Thin? I will look into this further. Thanks

Yes, you just need to create a thin pool as LV in your existing VG, and add that thin pool LV as lvm-thin storage in proxmox.

great thanks folks - this is resolved. I shrank my existing volume and created a new thin volume, created the CT again and snapshots are enabled.
