Hi,

I would like to move to Proxmox 4, but moving from Proxmox 3 to Proxmox 4 means moving from OpenVZ to LXC...
In your doc, you explain that OpenVZ bind mount needs to be recreated as LXC Bind Mounts.

But the doc for LXC Bind Mounts starts with : "This is an experimental feature".
I am not sure to understand what it means...
Is it ready to be used in Prod ? or just for test purpose ?

I think "experimental" there should be understood as in "for test purposes" or "at home". The issue is that when you use a local resource (e.g. bind mounts or PCI-passthrough) will make that VM/container to stick to a specific node.
In terms of stability it is the plain old Linux bind mount, so there should not be any issues.

Thanks for your answer.

I have many reasons to use OpenVZ Bind Mount on prod server. One of them is a security feature : by using a read-only mount, it allows me to make sure that some files on the VM cannot be modified.

Using the feature for test only purpose, would not make sense for me. This is the reason why I would like to have an "official" answer from the Proxmox team.

Hi,

Any chance to get an "official" answer to this question ?

Thanks,
