LVM vs ZFS on Large Hardware RAID backed Logical Unit

ZFS Single Disk is working really well.
However the warning is ambiguous - is it supposed to mean, "dont use the invidual raid controller based disks to create ZFS Raid? "

Or should I create an LVM on that that Logic Unit - In test both are working equally as well ..

Sorry this is covered in another post - but I thought the direct question better
