LVM disk space

All proxmox servers come with a LVM disk and a LVM Thin disk installed.
My server has one SSD 60GB as / (root) mounted and one HDD 4TB as /data mounted.
I want all my vm's and containers stored on HDD in /data dir.
Altough I have not installed any vm or container yet the 60GB SSD is nearly full.

My question is:
What for is the space on LVM used?
Will there be a future problem if I am going to create vm's?
Can I enlarge the LVM with a second SSD?

is used for the root partition, holding system files and configurations, and also used as a default storage.

Will there be a future problem if I am going to create vm's?

if you configure your 4T HDD as a storage, then all you need to do is to select it as the storage when creating a VM.

Can I enlarge the LVM with a second SSD?

you can create new logical volumes, or completely different storage like ZFS or other. see here [0]
