LVM calculate storage size for snaphots and vz?

I got lucky to get and old but still performant HP Proliant DL360 G6 with 2x480GB disks in hardware raid 1.

I am wondering if there are anyt rules to calculate the size needed for lvm during installation. How to calculate the size of free space for snapshots vs spaces for vm? Also what minimum should I reserve for the root?
 
Have you already installed Proxmox VE on your server? The ISO installer automatically selects some default values for the size of the storages, and if in doubt, I'd just leave them as they are. It will provide you with scheme that allows uploading some content like ISOs as well as creating a couple of guests.
