I just noticed on the forum several people being confused by the thin LVM in Proxmox (this includes me as well).

What happens to the additional local drives, I have 3 nodes with each additional local SSD drive ? By additional I mean it is separate from the drive that Proxmox is running on. What happenes to this additional local storage after the upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2 - does it remain LVM and working the way it always was on 3.4 and 4.1 ?

Thank you

Is there a new and/or recommended way of adding additional storage now with thin LVM ? or with additional local storage it always has to be the LVM (used in 3.4 and 4.1) ?

I do not need any specifics, just the recommendation, I know very little at this point about thin LVM, need to do some reading. Would it make sense of doing clean install of 4.2 ?

Thank you

What about the local storage that Proxmox is installed on, does it change during the update from 4.1 to 4.2 ?

I think my question was not precise. I asked only about the additional local storage which you confirmed should not chang.

From what I gathered from the forum the "primary" local storage changes from LVM to thin LVM during clean install.
