Hi community,

today I installed proxmox on my IBM x3250 with a LSI Logic SAS1064E raid controller and 2x 1TB.
I was wondering that the virtual servers are very slow, so I checked my disk with hdparm -t /dev/sda.

Code:
root@kokosnuss:~# hdparm -t /dev/sda

/dev/sda:
 Timing buffered disk reads: 8 MB in 3.20 seconds = 2.50 MB/sec

Only 2.5 MB per second! WT*
Can it be that the raid controller LSI Logic SAS1064E is not supported by Proxmox 2.1?

Any ideas how I can get the full speed?

check your RAID configuration and take a look if you have active or not the "write back with BBU". the old firmware has a bug that give a "battery failure" and the automatic setup to "write-through". it decrease dramatically the performances.

Hi,

I checked by RAID configuration and I could not find the menu where I can edit the option "write back with BBU".
Can it be that my RAID Controller doesn't have this option because it is only a SAS1064E?
On my server I installed mpt-status and lsiutil, everything looks fine. The RAID array is up and every disk is online.
