Hi!
Im trying to virtualize an older Windows Server machine (Windows Server 2012) into Proxmox VE.
So far everything went smooth: Created an image of the old machine with Disk2vhd, set up a proxmox machine, created the VM with the image. Works so far.
Only issue im dealing with right now is that the Windows licence became invalid. I guess its because of the change of hardware.
Am i now forced to buy a new licence key? Or is there another workaround?
Would the problem be the same if i made the transition with clonezilla instead of Disk2vhd? I thought maybe the licence loss is because Disk2vhd (being from MS) automatically deactivates the licence or so.
Or would it be helpful to better emulate the old hardware setup so the OS doesnt even "notice" being moved around?
Thanks a lot!
