I have read through the pages, google searched and searched here but i cant seem to find something that address's or even talks about these:

I have installed proxmox VE v0.9 on an Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5405@2.00GHz

i have 3 window's 2k3 servers:
1) Norton antivirus Server
2) Follit Destiny Server [library software]
3) Domain Controller

issue A:
Each machine uses exactly 86.91% of their allotted memory all the time, is this normal?

issue B:
when running 3 indiviual continuous ping to the ip's of all the virtual machines only one will respond at a time, the rest will time out. One will respond for a few minutes and the other will time out, then it'll rotate, but it does not seem to be a set amount of time, or a set rotation.

is this normal? when the computer is not responding i loose all connectivity to that server, which is not good, as these servers clients depend on network connectivity.

THANK YOU!

Did you use the recently-released Proxmox 0.9 beta 2 rather than the original 0.9 release?

You have the same MAC address on each virtual network interface, this has been discussed previously on the forum:
http://www.proxmox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=435

I am using:
Version (package/version/build):pve-manager/0.9/2816
-if that is not the latest version, can I upgrade to the latest w/o reinstalling?

MAC addresses:
tomorrow when i get into work i will check the MACs and if they are the same try manually setting the MAC addresses on each of the VMs, thank you for pointing that out.

We currently show the memory allocated on the host side. This memory is only freed when the host runs out of memory. So I guess the behaviour you describe is just normal.

Yes you can update to 0.9 beta2 after installing 0.9, please see:
http://www.proxmox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=533

The problem with assigning the same MAC address to all KVMs' virtual network interfaces may or may not be fixed in 0.9 beta 2, I have no confirmation either way. The developers were aware of the problem.

The MAC address assignment is fixed in 0.9beta2.

[solved]

defining the MAC addresses fixed my networking issues! [arp is an amazing protocol]

did the upgrade to 9 beta 2, went off w/o a hitch and is running stable

FYI: after the upgrade my windows VM's now only use 61.91% memory each. Not a problem just an observation.

thank you to everyone for the quick and useful responses, and thank you to the development team for such a nice product.
