Hello Everyone,

I have been using Proxmox VE for some time now. I need a proxmox expert who can help me to re-IP some 20 VMS. Most are Linux, but a few are Windows. I am afraid of potentially breaking something. So, this is why I am asking Prox Experts to do the work for me. I do have a Proxmox Mail Gateway that I would like to learn and fugue out. Finally, I have Proxmox Backup. The backup server is online, but it is no longer showing the pool of available storage space.

If there is anyone out there who is willing to assist -- I will compensate you for your knowledge, effort and time. Please reach out ASAP.

Thank you for your help!

Best,
Randy

Re-IPing 20 VMs sounds worse than it is, all of that happens inside the guests, PVE itself doesn't care what IP a VM has. On Linux it's /etc/network/interfaces or netplan/nmcli depending on the distro, on Windows just the NIC properties. Do them one at a time and keep the noVNC console open, then you can always fix yourself back in if you lock yourself out over SSH.

The PBS bit sounds like the datastore just isn't mounted anymore rather than data being gone. What does proxmox-backup-manager datastore list show, and is the underlying path/pool actually there (zpool status if it's ZFS)? Also check the datastore's status in the UI and journalctl -u proxmox-backup-proxy for the real error. Nine times out of ten it's a missing mount after a reboot.

If you'd rather have someone do it with you, we (B1 Systems) do Proxmox support and consulting for a living: https://www.b1-systems.de

Hallo,
