Logins from remote location

I am having an issue with logins to my PVE environment on my laptop. If I am on the local lan, a 192.168, I can log in. But when I am remote, I connect via vpn, which is a 172.16 address. When I attempt to log in to the PVE server over the vpn, it will not let me log in.

Where is the setting for what hosts are allowed to log into the web interface?

Proxmox VE GUI does not block any hosts in a default setup. Either someone configured this on your host or your VPN access is not working.
