Hi everyone,

i am using proxmox for 4 month now and i find it user friendly. i ecountered many problems but i made it through with the help of the doc and forum posts.
I am kinda new with this solution but I managed to have a 4 node cluster with high availability so far.

i am currently running into a problem and i cant find a solution or an explanation.
The problem is that on my fourth node of my cluster i have configured the disk to be in ZFS (during the installation of proxmox). When i acces this node just after installing it the local storage is "local-zfs" on the GUI but when i add this node to my cluster the storage is now "storage-lvm" and i dont know why.. is that because the first node i configured in my cluster have that kind of storage ?

I am doing this because im trying to test the replication feature but the lvm storage is missing the replicate feature.
I may have not understand how this feature works but the Proxmox doc says that local ZFS is the only storage that provide replication.

any help would be apreciated

Thanks you in advance !

Only for tests: You can add a HDD/SSD on one of the other node with ZFS. Importend same storagename for the zfsstorage. Then you test the replicationfeature. Be aware, ZFS a lot of memory. So for a minimal config 32GB for Host an VM are recommended. You can also limit the memory usage: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/ZFS_on_Linux#_limit_zfs_memory_usage I've set it here to 12GB.

Note the name of your first zpool.
zpool list
Create a zpool on the other node(s) using that same name.
zpool create nameOfPool /dev/sd*
Mount it and use the Datacenter to add a ZFS.
Just a very basic example. The Replication Storage is pretty sweet.

Thanks for your replies !

I add a new node to my cluster with ZFS so I now have two nodes with ZFS on my cluster.

Both pools have the same name.
When i tried to add an ZFS when logged onto the GUI through a node without ZFS i cant add the ZFS...
But when logged from the new node it worked !
I dont know if this is normal or not....

Anyway my problem is sovled thanks to you guys !
