UPDATE:
Figured out that the BIOS was too old and needed an update. Wiped and reinstall. All is good.

Proxmox VE 9.2 fresh install.

I can create an Ubuntu VM without issue. When I try to create a LinuxMint XFCE or Cinnamon, it would not proceed. LinuxMint creates a boot loop while Cinnamon hangs at the Booting from DVD/CD with a blinking cursor.

I've done the same setups on multiple Proxmox boxes and this has never happened before.

Any suggestions what to look for?

Thanks!

Providing some information about the used setup would really help to assess the situation:
Would you like to share the
used vm config?
details about the hardware setup of the box with the failing vms?
Have you checked integrity of the dowloaded iso images?

Box is I7-4790K
8GB RAM
2 Western Digital spindle drives
Onboard GPU
No additional add-on cards of any type

VM details
2GB RAM
2 cores
Everything else followed default configuration from the dialog boxes

On a different box, I used the same downloaded ISO from my machine and ran through the same process to create the VM. It successfully completed. One thing I noticed on the working box when creating the VM is the OS Type available showed 6.x-2.6 Kernel whereas the problem box has 7.x-2.6 Kernel. There is no option to select 6.x. It's either 7.x or 2.4 that's available to choose from. That would be the only configuration difference I can see. Both boxes are running Proxmox 9.2.4.
