Limiting a Pull Sync job to only certain restore point types?

I'm setting up a remote backup PBS server to pull from our main PBS server, to act as a long term repository and a low attack surface backup repository.

The issue I'm seeing is that we have fairly high resolution backups of some of our servers here with hourly backups, which I don't really need there. I only plan on keeping a few dailys and then several steps of older backups to yearlys.

However, from what I can tell, my sync options are basically to pull the entire group available in the namespace. so for those with hourly backups, I'll basically be transferring the hourly backup points and then immediately pruning them out at the end of the day

I don't see any option to filter based on restore point level...

Is there a solution for this, or am I just going to have to accept the extra data transfer?

thanks for posting on the forum!

I had a similar situation once and worked around the issue by using the "Transfer Last" setting.
This makes initial provisioning of the secondary repository a little more difficult but should give you the desired results.

Nevertheless there is an open feature request [1] which covers the ability to filter snapshots similar to the already existing group filter.
Please feel free to leave a comment there stating your use case so that our development team can better gauge the necessity for this feature.

Interesting comment. We also looked for the product supporting "the latest" recovery point facilitating recovery tests on a regular basis without looking for specific date / time. VEEAM definitely supports this concepts but it was expensive. Ended up another commercial product (contact directly if you look for information). Wish Proxmox will support this soon.
