Am I over-allocating RAM? 96GB assigned to a Windows Server 2016 VM on top of Proxmox 6.4.

Host has 128GB physical RAM. We have had this configuration for several months without issue, but have experienced extreme slowness/freezing where a forced Reset is the only recourse 3 days in a row now.

I don't understand why the Windows VM says it's using 25% or so on average, but Proxmox says 95%?

We do have a physical RAM upgrade that we plan on doing to double the RAM on the host (we'll bump the VM to 128GB for the time being). We also added another swap disk and set Windows to use that for more swap space. running all local storage, RAID10 stripe of SSD disks. Can't figure out why it freezes daily now. Any troubleshooting help would be greatly appreciated.

are you using zfs? if yes, this takes up to half of your memory by default (and isn't shown as used, because normally it can be given back, but sometimes that happens too slowly)
