KVM OpenVPN - Any Firewall Edits?

Hi,

I've set up OpenVPN Access Server inside a KVM CentOS 8 VM and i'm having a weird issue. When connected to the VPN I can ping IPv4's, but I can't DNS query any domain and resolve their IP. Is there any kind of special firewall changes that need to be made on VM's to support VPN capabilities? Is there a firewall forward that needs to be added?

Any suggestions is appreciated. Trying to rule out if it is a config change I need to do in Proxmox, or if my OpenVPN AS is miss configured.

If your OpenVPN already carries traffic, it cannot be a PVE issue. OpenVPN encrypts your traffic, so PVE would never be able to distinguish between DNS or other traffic.

As a more general answer: PVE only blocks traffic when the built-in firewall is explicitly enabled. See our documentation for more info.
