Is there a possibility that you include the patches from Alexander Graf (http://alex.csgraf.de/self/?qemu/) which provide Mac OSX support in KVM?

I tried to do it for myself, but the version of KVM which I compiled like explained in the Howto of Dalamar (http://d4wiki.goddamm.it/index.php/Howto:_Mac_OSX_on_KVM) does not support the parameter "-id" which is needed by Proxmox VE. So I was not able to start any Virtual Machine under the compiled version of KVM.

as far as I know this is still alpha project and alexander is not really working on this. additional it makes no sense for Proxmox to virtualize an OS where the EULA does not allow this. so the answer is currently a clear no - but if things changes, why not.

Thanks for your fast reply!

My problem is that the "normal" version of kvm does not support the parameter "-id". Or am I wrong? The man page of kvm does not list this parameter. Do you use a modified version of kvm?

Did you get any further on this?
I found an article here wich sounds great.
Would be nice to see if it works on KVM too..;)

I'm definitely interested in this. I have an Intel XServe JUST for VM's of OS X Server. Talk about expensive. I built a SuperMicro 2U box for half what the XServe cost and put 8 2TB drives in it for VM's. I would LOVE to virtualize Snow Leopard Server.

Do you have any reference for this ??? This seems _really_ surprising to me !
Thanks in advance.

Apple new EULA for Lion...

and this new release comes with a less restricted EULA:
(iii) to install, use and run up to two (2) additional copies or instances of the Apple Software within virtual operating system environments on each Mac Computer you own or control that is already running the Apple Software
According to this line, users should be able to run up to two additional instances of OS X Lion on the same machine without the need to purchase extra licenses from Apple.

But only if you 'already running the Apple Software' - what does that mean exactly?

Well yes that's a good question.. to be really sure we'll have to wait for Lion to be released. But as Apple no longer have a server platform, I suspect that their agreement will be relaxed further to allow it to run on virtual systems which are not OSX based.

Apple doesn't have the XServe, they still have the mac mini server and mac pro tower server. You still need a *Mac* to be the host unfortunately. Now, I've seen screenshots from ESX 5 where you can select OS X Server as a platform for a VM, but nothing more than that.

thanks for your reply~I wonder if you have virtualized MAC on QEMU+KVM~and can you give me some help for that? I found that I have to get the patch for qemu, but found nowhere. is it right in this way to find the right way to virtualize MAC?

Sorry, but I can not give you any help by virtualizing Mac OS on KVM. At the time I asked here in this thread I did not get it working and gave up. At the moment I do not have any need to virtualize Mac OS on KVM.
