Hello,

i want to create some VPS Server ( Windows ) with KVM. My Problem is the VPS Server cant go online.

i create on Hetzner Rootinterface a Virtual MAC Adress and add it to the NIC. After then i add in the Windows VPS Server the IP Adress of the MAC Adress, Netmask and the Gateway from Hetzner.

How can i fix this Problem?

I hope someone can help me

I don't know what exactly your question is,
But I think in that data center it's important that the IP of each VM's gateway be in the same range of VM's IP.

Routed KVM, Re: KVM - Hetzner and Virtual MAC Adress

Hello Inan,

You have similar network setup as I have with another (rootserver-) provider.

It is called "routed network configuration".
All VMs, OpenVZ and KVM, are routed via the physical host (which is running your proxmox ve).

With this routed setup, only the host's MAC address shows up at the provider's switchport.
No need to register "virtual MAC addresses" with your provider.

I can help you with your setup, if you may provide your actual config in detail.
Not sure, if here is the place to show up "real" details, as it is "world-readable" here...

this wiki article is pointing in the direction, but i have some more details, to get it working.
http://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/Proxmox_VE#Netzwerkkonfiguration_KVM
So please tell me how we can go on with your details without disclosing it to the world.

As soon as we have your Server working, we can publish an "normalized" article here, to help others.

kind regards,

Hello spdriver,

Sorry to reply to such an old thread but I was trying to setup a KVM on Hetzner node but I am unable to configure networking for a Windows guest. I managed to configure a few Linux machines though. Would really appreciate if you can help!
