As i can understand ( i'm new to proxmox ve ) a more advanced storage configurator from the web gui will be available in the next release of proxmox ve.
For the moment you can use lvm but you need to do that manually by modify /etc/qemu-server/VMID.conf files.

..PMFJI, it would be equally nice if one could install a KVM guest into a DRBD device. We currently use DRBD devices created on top of LVM partitions for virtualization with XEN and OpenVZ - works very well indeed. We are looking for a way to integrate DRBD with proxmox somehow.
